Steph sent me a message this morning that the community of Cabot, Arkansas was showing them much love and support. She confided that it was exhausting to walk into a Walmart when you needed everything and she felt hopeless. Ray and I decided to go up there in the morning to be there for support. We planned to travel to Missouri this week to view some properties but postponed that trip another week. Extended family has shared their mixed opinions about us joining our daughter in the midst of her life changing tragedy, but I’m glad we are able to go. Stephanie asked me to bring them some suitcases because they were carrying the few belongings they now own in Walmart sacks.

I haven’t had an entry due to the whirlwind of my current life and partially because I left my computer in Arkansas with Stephanie and Hayden to aid them with the endless insurance claims and inquiries.
To bring you up to date, the RV fire was caused from a faulty battery and their insurance settlement was best case scenario but left them about $40k in the red. They are coping as well as anyone could and have decided to settle down in Texas.
On the other hand, Ray, Matt, and I still plan to move. We visited Missouri earlier this week and toured three farmlands. We put an offer in on a place that seemed perfect for us, but today we learned we had been outbid. Traveling out of state to view properties is difficult. The trip was fast, furious, and exhausting. We decided to move out of our current home before continuing our search.
The realtor came today to take pictures of the family farm. Matt is going crazy because we have to pack and move out of our house but extended family insists on his help with the farm.
We’ll all be glad for this transition period to be over.

We’ve had a lot of clouds and rain this month and all of us are in low spirits. My writing has been put off for this transition, and I’m just down about everything. I’ve been packing and the house is becoming bare. Sources in the real estate business say we are still a month out from closing on the sale of our current home. The rain has delayed our property survey and appraisal.
Stephanie and Hayden toured some tiny home showrooms and are gathering ideas for their next home. They are staying in Texas and we’re trying to move out of state. Isn’t that wonderful?
