Ray is officially retired today.

We’ve been iced in for three days, and I’m surprised that we’re having church tonight on the ridge. Matt is teaching the lesson.

The weather in Texas has been worse and they got more moisture today. The news included several videos of sliding and crashing in the D/FW area.

Stephanie says she misses me and is tired of being stuck at home. I need some cuddles from Waylon but things will have to thaw out before I return to Texas.

The last two nights, I dreamed I was running late. One was for work and the other was for a medical appointment. I researched the meaning and these are likely anxiety dreams produced from fear of missing out on something or always feeling one step behind.

The U.S. shot down a Chinese spy balloon that had sailed over our country for three days. To keep damage to a minimum, our military waited until it flew over the Atlantic Ocean before shooting it down. The spy technology, which was the size of three school buses, was carried under the huge balloon.

The Kansas City Chiefs are playing in the Super Bowl this Sunday. Ray is pretty excited.

Today is sunny, but we’ve had several days of rain and gray skies. The clouds will be back tomorrow, but no moisture is expected until Tuesday.

Matt taught the lesson at a nearby country church last night. Most of them knew where we live, and a man actually said ‘you ‘uns’s’ or you ‘unses.’ One woman said, “I have never seen you anywhere. And I remember faces.” We must be strangers.

Ray and I plan to go to Denison next week.

We got back from Denison last night. A baby definitely changes everything. I did no writing while I was there, and I slept a lot during the trip home.

China is threatening to place sanctions on the U.S. for shooting down the balloon they claim was a weather balloon. Two more of those apparatuses were flying over other countries. And we’ve seen and shot down two “silver cylindrical discs” over Canada. So, the world continues to get weirder. I can’t make this stuff up.

Speaking of making stuff up…My screenplay The Legend of Sleeping Springs has been selected for the Branson International Film Festival Screenplay Contest. I don’t know where I’ve placed yet, but I’ve been chosen, and I’m so excited. The festival will be held in the summer.

Matt is preaching tomorrow morning at the little church on the ridge. He’s nervous. I’m hoping we get out early.

Russia invaded Ukraine over a year ago and the fighting continues with no end predicted for the near future.
