Donald Trump turned himself in and pled not guilty to 34 charges this morning in a New York City courthouse.
It feels like I’ve been in Denison for longer than a week. Waylon is wonderful, but he’s a lot of work. We’ve had a few sprinkles of rain, but conditions are favorable for severe storms from here to St. Louis and eastward. Recent tornadoes touched down in Mississippi and Arkansas.
There’s a new Covid variant that is predicted to be bad. They say that about each strain, but people claimed they were sicker this time around.

Today was Easter Sunday and my mom’s birthday. I’m at Stephanie’s house, and we went to church this morning. It was Waylon’s first time going to church. He was quiet, and there was another small baby near us making some squeaks. I think they were communicating.
Waylon sleeps in this dog bed-looking thing that sits in the crib or wherever they put him to sleep. I couldn’t understand what they were calling it, and I thought it was a French word. I called it something and they laughed. “Mom it’s a Dock-A-Tot,” Stephanie said. Hmp. I’m beginning to feel like a tot dock.

I’ve been watching the Hatfield &McCoy series starring Kevin Costner on Netflix. It’s pretty clean except for the language and violence, and it’s supposed to be pretty accurate. The series is three-part and about six hours. But I enjoyed it a lot.
The weather’s been great this week in Denison. I’ve been taking Waylon outside every day. Stephanie and Hayden cleaned out their shed while I’ve been here to help with the baby. The shed purge resulted in a need for more storage inside the house, so Stephanie reorganized the kitchen. I only slightly knew my way around her cabinets and now I’m struggling to find things again.
Ray’s in Missouri finishing up our taxes. I go home Friday, and I’m ready. I feel like I’ve been here forever. Waylon’s a sweet baby, but he’s a lot of work!

Spring arrived on the ridge while I was in Texas. The trees are green. The goldfinches and hummingbirds appeared, but we’re still waiting for the Baltimore Orioles. They were plentiful last year. One morning the front yard’s wildlife was like a Disney feature including two cottontails, a chipmunk, and a squirrel, along with numerous birds. That was before a cool front, and we actually had a freeze one night. It’s raining today, but temperatures have been in the sixties the past few days.
Matt’s gone to Texas to visit friends and for a family wedding.
We went to the Sight and Sound Theater for the Esther production Saturday night. Their sets never cease to amaze me. They’re outstanding, along with the shows. What a ministry.
Ray and I have tickets to Dolly Parton’s Stampede next week. And I’m attending a writing conference this weekend.
