We had a quiet Independence Day celebration while Stephanie, Hayden, and Waylon visited. We tried out and love our Ninja smoker/grill. Ray watched YouTube videos and served scrumptious ribs and burgers. He’ll smoke some chicken later.
Waylon slept more on this trip than ever before. Maybe we wore him out. He enjoyed the hummingbirds buzzing past him and spending time outside.
The Jeep wouldn’t crank on Thursday and Ray had to pick me up at the Chiropractor’s office. We had it towed to a local dealer. Tuesday is the earliest they can look at it.
The small church where Matt’s been preaching voted him in as pastor. He spends most of his time working on sermons and lessons. I miss him hanging out with us.

The Jeep is back. The fuel pump we replaced last September broke and was replaced for no charge since the part and labor were still under the two-year warranty.
Matt is sick today with a headache and nausea.

We went to dinner and to see Oppenheimer for Matt’s birthday. I enjoyed how they used light, sound, and silence to provoke emotion and tell the story in the film. Although the story was interesting, and I enjoyed the film more than I’d anticipated, I don’t recommend it. Ray and I probably wouldn’t have chosen that movie, but Matt wanted to see it for his birthday.
Flooding, wildfires, and tornadoes are all over the US. High temperature records are being broken around the world. The press now calls it ‘human-induced climate change.’ And there was an earthquake in Alaska.
God in the Cat Box has been revised and is back on the market. We are working on formatting God in the Doggie Bag and I’m posting a few sneak preview ‘episodes’ on Kindle Vella. I hope to have it in print within the next six weeks.

It’s hot here and everywhere. Things are still green and we’ve had a little rain this week, but the locals say it’s drier than normal.
Ray and I saw The Lesson movie. I thought the film was a thriller about a killer/writer from the previews and was very excited to see it. But it was painfully slow and our theater was a little warm making it an unpleasant experience.
We watched The Duel on Amazon Prime last night. We both liked it, but it was pretty violent.

Saturday night my ankle was hurting. I wondered what caused the pain since there was no rain in the forecast and I hadn’t been on my feet any more than usual. Well, we got an unexpected storm last night. Lightening woke me around midnight and constant lightening flashed from all directions. Thunder—only one boom—scared the dog. The power was off for about four hours. Thankfully, our home came with a generator. We have a Sunset perpetual motion swing and the storm blew off the canopy. Ray found all the parts and reattached it. Our internet and phone were down this morning, but by 11 am everything was working.
