I can’t believe it’s November. We’ve already had our first freeze. Leaves are falling quickly. Many trees are already bare.

I’m still trying to catch up after our trip to Texas. Next week is busy with appointments, and I want to get the Christmas decorations up before Steph and Hayden’s upcoming visit. They arrive on Black Friday weekend. This will be a busy month with little time for writing.

Fall weather’s back. Yesterday it was eighty degrees, but today’s high is sixty and it’s winter gray outside.

I survived all my appointments and got the flu shot today. I feel like I’m running a slight fever. And guess what…I’m lowering my A1C.

Ray and I saw Killers of the Flower Moon at the theater. I read the book about a year ago. We enjoyed it. It’s long though—3 hours 26 minutes—and while it moved steadily, it felt long. I thought the FBI would never show up.

We viewed Branson’s IMAX Theater’s Ozarks feature last Thursday. The one-hour show is based on the McFarlain family history. Then we went to the Creation Museum. This Christian organization offers free guided tours moving from creation to the resurrection of Christ—even walking you through the plan of salvation. They offer reading on proof of God’s existence in the presentation and have a nicely stocked bookstore on the Christian creation viewpoint. We enjoyed our visit there.

We had some rain and cool temps this week. Our Thanksgiving dinner plans include the Grand Country Buffet this year. Stephanie and Waylon are coming next week, and we’ll have a home-cooked meal while they’re here. Hayden will remain in Texas to stay close to his family. I’m still trying to decorate and prep for their time here.

Update: The Grand Country Thanksgiving Buffet was way too crowded. We ate at Flat Creek Restaurant like last year and didn’t have to wait for a table. Hayden’s father, Terry Haskell, passed away and Stephanie’s trip was postponed.
