The Springfield Cardinals beat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals Tuesday night. It was a good game.

It’s hot here, but cooler temps are predicted for next week.

Large rocks keep appearing in our driveway. We all noticed them, but Ray finally mentioned it when we were together. Today I found one in the yard under my bird feeder station. It was about the size of a coffee mug and weighed about a pound. I’m not saying a Sasquatch is leaving rocks around, but it’s a Sasquatch! What other explanation makes sense?

We’ve had storms every night for several nights. I enjoy the lightening in the night. It rained over four inches here last week. Tomorrow’s predicted high is 79. Sorry, Texas friends.

Hawaii has burned with wildfires, and last I heard fires were ongoing. The pictures are horrific. 93 are dead and countless others are missing.

Our dining room overlooks a meadow and we watched through binoculars as a coyote had a standoff with a groundhog near the spring. The groundhog put on a good show, and the coyote finally lost interest, but it was entertaining to us.

We finished God in the Doggie Bag and the proof copy is on the way waiting for my approval. I’m looking forward to focusing all my attention on completing the first draft of my inaugural fiction endeavor. It’s a fun premise to write.

It’s hot here but expected to be cooler next week.

Last week we received news of another close friend with cancer. Every report we hear is worse than the previous one. I’m gathering a comic relief care package for them quickly. Maybe I should purchase items in bulk since these tragedies are becoming regular occurrences. I remember the fall of 2020 being so busy. Several choir members were ill, and I was scheduling and delivering meals to them. But I had the joy of the Lord and the naivety to think everyone would come out okay. But I was wrong, and there were services and burials. There were also some miraculous recoveries. Now, every time I hear of another diagnosis, it feels like a gut punch.

Lord, heal and help us. Have your way and send your peace and comfort.

Ray and I saw The Hill movie starring Dennis Quaid today. It’s the true story of baseball player Rickey Hill and his limitations, faith, and perseverance. I cried through most of the movie—watch the previews, and you’ll understand why—but it was so inspiring.

By the way, Dennis Quaid has an interesting testimony and writes music. We watched On a Wing and a Prayer on Netflix earlier in the summer. That’s a good movie, too.
