We found a fawn resting on our front porch one morning. It was gone a couple of hours later.
I had a story place second in the 2024 Between the Pages Writing Contest “Best Children’s Book Manuscript” category.
We’ve given up on illustrating The Dragon’s Foot book (or any other book) ourselves.
I’ve been working on the house since our church and Matt’s are meeting here on Friday night.

Ray and I experienced another wildlife encounter today. A hummingbird flew into the screened-in porch. We had the screen doors open while we swept and rearranged furniture. We hoped the bird would find its way out on its own, but it didn’t. Ray finally got it to perch on the straw of our broom and released it outside.

Around twenty folks attended the church gathering at our house. It was a fun time.
Ray and I met Stephanie and Waylon in Arkansas last week. This time, we stayed at a townhome in Hot Springs Village. Our rental was on Lake Segovia and we fed the fish from our balcony. The view was spectacular. It rained one afternoon, and I just wanted to sit and watch the rain falling on the lake. Waylon and Ray had other ideas about how I should spend my time. The Village has lots of amenities, including pickle-ball courts, putt-putt golf, pools, beaches, and hiking trails. We did a little walking and took Waylon to the beach one morning. We were having a quiet, relaxing time until a school bus pulled up and Camp Wild Banshee unleashed their fury upon the swimming area. It was time to go, anyway.
Matt was sick when we got home. He has some type of chest infection/Covid/Bronchitis but seems better this afternoon. I hope Ray and I can stay well.
