Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday, and Israel has now declared war. Hamas militants are killing Israelis and dragging hostages over the border to Gaza. News footage has been horrific.
The weather’s been great here, and we walked around the Silver Dollar City Pumpkin Fest yesterday. The decorations and food are fabulous.

Yesterday was a whirlwind. After several attempts at scheduling a book signing event in Mineral Wells, I finally locked down a venue. I was elated until about 11 a.m. when the Jeep refused to start at the UPS Store. I had it towed to the dealership and that deflated me rapidly. Less than a month ago, I drove it to the dealer for doing this, and they found nothing wrong. This time, the service department didn’t even offer an estimated time frame to look at it or service it. Great. We should trade it in, but we don’t want a car payment.

My book signing was awesome. We’ve been gone from Texas just long enough for everyone to miss us. Mineral Wells has been good to us. I appreciate everyone who stopped by to chat, especially those who made purchases. Both of my books are for sale at The Market 76067.
Mike Johnson was voted in as Speaker of the House. I’m excited for this change. He seems like a good guy. I hope he lasts.
We picked up the Jeep from the dealer. It wasn’t repaired. We’re still waiting on the part. An overheating issue prevents it from starting if it’s been running. The dealer is now quoting us double his original estimate. We asked if the car was returned to driving condition and if we could take it while we waited for the new parts. They gave it to us, but the bottom of the back seat was skewed and the cover for the fuel pump was off. The road underneath the car is visible from inside where the backseat belongs. We found three of the four screws that attach the cover. The fourth screw probably fell out somewhere along the road home. Unbelievable.
